The Get Up Kids - My Apology

Wow, so, I'm done. I finished college.

Well, ok, finished undergrad. I suppose I still have roughly a kajillion years to go if I go through with this professor thing. Still, I'm kinda floored. It's kind of sinking in now. Pretty cool.

Saying that I've been a bit busy lately is a bit of an understatement. I had some pretty late nights at engineering while finishing up my senior project. Was worth it, we kicked much ass at the senior design expo. We either won or tied every category. I'm kinda proud of that.

Headed to Germany tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to that. I don't really know what to expect. Apparently there is a dinner on Sunday where I'm supposed to sit there and quietly take notes. Why? Because some of the other people in attendance include: the inventor of the term "software engineering," the former head of NASA's SE lab, the current head of Lockheed Martin's "Software Innovation" center, and the head of Europe's largest SE thinktank. Or, as Menzies put it, "people way above our pay grade."

Strangely enough, we are flying out of the Morgantown airport for the first part of the flight. Weird. I was convinced that it was a fake airport.

Got a haircut, been meaning to for awhile. It seems to be shocking people. I can see why, I got it cut pretty short. I like it.

I don't have much else to say at the moment, I guess. Just felt like updating this livejournal.

Not that I really have anything major to discuss right now. I just felt like making a post on here. How is life going for me? I guess that I don't really know. Good, I suppose. I kind of feel neutral at the moment.

I was in a pretty amazing mood Monday. It was a beautiful day, I found an apartment, work was going well.

Speaking of, I did find an apartment. My friend Joe asked me if I wanted to room with him and one of his friends. We found a really nice place up on Highland Avenue. It's sort of between campuses. It's a little small, but man.. it's nice. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning, giant kitchen, a porch (with a sweet view). Awesomeness.

I haven't scheduled yet (I don't actually know when I'll get to), but I think I'm taking:

I used to ask if anyone reading would be in my classes, I don't think that's even a remote possibility anymore. I do have to say that the selection of graduate courses sucks. There are seriously only a total of seven classes offered next semester. I can take a few 400-level classes, but I've already taken most of those as an undergrad.

Hotel room is reserved for PAX! Yays. It looks like the E3 invite didn't pan out, but no big deal. I wasn't sure if I could afford two trips anyways, and PAX would have won out if I could only do one.

I guess that's my life at the moment for the most part. I did bake some awesome pepperoni rolls yesterday. Tomorrow, I'm taking the man who invented hypertext out to lunch. That should be pretty entertaining.

Only 2.4% Canadian? That's a surprise considering my Canada fetish.

Man, I am so addicted to Doctor Who.

The new series 4 trailer is pretty awesome. I can't wait for Rose to return. I totally bawled at the end of series 2. Martha is awesome, but I was pretty attached to Rose, so.. hard act to follow.

I kind of want one of those remote-controlled Daleks.
